The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is offering online admission through its website for secondary and senior secondary courses under Stream II for unsuccessful school and college students of recognised Boards. Thus, by applying through NIOS, the student can save one whole year.

Admissions Dates: The admission is open from 15th Feb 2015 to 15 March 2015.
About NIOS

NIOS is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. Its Headquarters is at Noida, Uttar Pradesh and it has regional centers located all over India. The NIOS is an 
exam board of the Govt. of India which is similar to the CBSE Board and CISCE Board.

NIOS will be conducting its exam in October 2015 for students who were unsuccessful in the public exam of a recognized Board. 
Features of NIOS October 2015 admissions


Eligibility Criteria

1. You can apply if you have appeared but could not succeed (or were eligible to appear but could not appear) in the public exam of Secondary or Senior Secondary from any recognized 
Examination Board.

2. You can get admission only in the same subject combination as in the parent Board.

3. You must be able to submit your original 
mark sheet / admit card along with your application form.


Transfer of Credit

NIOS provides flexibility, in that transfer of credit (TOC) is offered for up to 2 passed subjects from the selected recognized Boards.


Admission Validity

The admission you get will be valid for 5 years.

Public Exams of NIOS

The learners of this stream will be eligible to appear in the October – November 2015 Public exam. Thereafter, you can also be eligible to appear in On Demand Examination / Public Examination.


Mode of Payment

You have the option to deposit the fee through (a) Credit Card (Master/Visa), Debit Card (VISA only of select banks) (b) Bank Draft of any nationalized Bank drawn in favour of Secretary, NIOS payable at Noida for Delhi and NCR & for other Regional Centres Secretary, NIOS, payable at respective regional centre of NIOS.
